Chiburi Island is so well-known that French cuisine is synonymous with it. I was definitely a fan of this restaurant when I visited the island. I had dinner there, but reservations are required. When I made my reservation over the phone, I was asked about any foods I wanted to exclude and any allergies I had.
There were three course options, and I chose the middle one.
They use vegetables from Chiburi Island and I was able to enjoy authentic French cuisine.
The grilled conch with herbs was particularly delicious; I don't particularly like shellfish, so it was the first time I'd experienced how delicious it was.
I'd like to stop by again when I visit the island.
There is no parking, so you'll probably have to walk.
I booked the 4,000 yen course. I enjoyed the delicious French cuisine, which I couldn't believe was only 4,000 yen. The pork steak in particular was incredibly tender and delicious. The speed at which the course was served seemed to take into consideration the rate at which plates were being used, which made me very satisfied.
You can see the general location on Google Maps, but it's so hard to find that you might accidentally end up in front of the wrong house. I rented a car and parked in a park near the port, about 100 meters away. There was no sign or markings on the shop, just a small light at the entrance. I timidly opened the sliding door and looked inside, and finally realized I was in the right place. The old house has been renovated, and there is a calmly decorated reception and dining room, a kitchen building, and a detached building with only two guest rooms. There's so much to say, but I'll just say it was a wonderful dinner, breakfast, and comfortable guest room. It's in a corner of the village, but it was quiet all day and the night sky was beautiful, making it the best night ever. If you want to eat delicious food, it's definitely worth going☺️
We started with a potage soup of new onions and spinach, which was so exquisitely tasty that it gave us a sense that every course would be absolutely delicious.
As expected, it was the best dinner of my life, from fresh fish to meat dishes, gelato and tea.
Both the chef and his wife were very friendly and always kept an eye on how we were progressing as they prepared the next dish.
Reservations required. A French restaurant run by a couple who moved to the island in an old house. They serve top-notch food at reasonable prices, making the most of the local ingredients. It's an ideal experience for travelers. The location is hard to find, but the coordinates are right. It's located at the back of a paved road that's just barely passable by motorbike.
It's located in the kind of place that makes you wonder, ``There's a French restaurant in a place like this!?''
If you are reading this, you probably have Google Maps open, so please follow the map to find it.
When you arrive at the restaurant, you will find that it is a restaurant that has been renovated from an old island house, and the space is a mix of nostalgia and newness in a good way.
Authentic French cuisine served in an old folk house, prepared by a friendly chef who makes a variety of delicious dishes that you won't believe are eating on an island. As someone who has known this island for a long time, I was really surprised.
I was also surprised at the price! I felt that the price was so reasonable that I was worried, "Can I have this course meal for this price? Is it good? Is it okay?"
It is said that accommodation facilities will also be added in the future, so this shop could be the key to increasing the number of visitors to the island in the future.
Please come to Chiburijima and enjoy authentic French cuisine served in an old folk house.
